Think Tanks ??

                                We all know to Think... We all know Tanks.. What is Think Tanks???  What is called as "think tanks"?? Why it is called like that?? Do you want to know?? Yes you have to because these are the important details that one should aware of...
                  
                                 It is  policy institute ("think tank" by journalists terms) is an organization that performs research and advocacy concerning topics such as social policy, political strategy, economics, military, technology, and culture. The interesting fact in this is most policy institutes are non-profit organizations, which some countries such as the United States and Canada provide with tax exempt status. Other think tanks are funded by governments, advocacy groups, or businessesThere are about more than 4,500 policy institutes exist world wide.

 Know About Indian Think Tanks ??
                                     
                                  India has the third largest number of think tanks in the world. Many are based in New Delhi, and a few are government sponsored. A number of these work on foreign policy and security issues. There are few think tanks like Centre for Civil Society who promote liberal social and economic ideas and others like the Rakshak Foundation, who encourage students to do empirical research and gain first hand experience in public policy issues Vivekananda International Foundation. Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations, a think tank based in Mumbai looks at the intersection of foreign policy and business - and how India's businesses are shaping India's interactions with the world. Think tanks with a development focus are those like the National Centre for Cold-chain Development ('NCCD') which serve to bring inclusive policy change by supporting the Planning Commission and related government bodies. Other think tanks in India could be privately organizations with voluntary contributions from multidisciplinary professionals and academic or industry leaders.


Do our think tanks make good ideas??

          In its latest (2012) annual survey of the world’s top 6,603 think tanks conducted under its Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP), U Penn ranked the Delhi-based Centre for Civil Society (estb. 1997) India’s No.1 (51 worldwide)..
